The stock trading app case: upgrading the user experience to a new level
A trading app, T-Bank Investments, wanted to provide in-app audio and video live-streaming for users, assuming it could increase trading activity and retention.
Goals
The main goal is to upgrade the app to include audio and video public rooms and text chats.
The partner wanted to provide the audio and video in-app streams about investment news to discuss strategies, stocks, quotes, and the market and engage shareholders in conversation and deal-making.
The T-Bank Investments app has in-app opportunities for users to become leaders, experts, and a feed with opinions, so audio and video streams and real-time events became an organic next step in development.
What Watchers did
- Placed customized in-app chat rooms that are opened by scheduling. The functionality is available on mobile apps (Android, iOS) and website. Added countdown (it is shown before rooms start).
- Provided the admin tools to schedule online rooms, manage and set them and admit speakers.
- Added CTA linked to a chat button, prompting users to participate in chats, discuss bets and share emotions. Users can communicate via text or animated emojis. Also, they can ask for speaking rights and, after getting them, communicate with voice.
- Delivered tools for moderation. That provides a healthy space for streams.
- Provided full data, including real-time dashboard and semantic analysis of UGC content (users' messages).
- Customized improvements such as tools for recording streams were added.
The project status
The partner regularly provides live audio and video streaming in online rooms (several weekly events). We've added widgets for publishing polls, quizzes, and marketing messages. We are also working on new features to improve the UX and continue improving the partner's business metrics.
Results and users’ insights
1-3K of participants per stream; up to 15 weekly events.
Users participate actively in streams; they find the feature useful and convenient. They used to seek an opportunity to surf the app during the streams and to re-listen to it afterward. That’s why we've provided the tool for recording streams—now the platform can share all ended streams with users. Also, now users can surf through the app while participating in streams.
