It is the simplest yet effective way to prevent users from sending generally violent lexicon or competitors' names. To prevent spam, you can restrict the sending of any links to a chat; to prevent sharing private data—any phone numbers. We also mask phone numbers and bank card numbers to protect users from fraud.The benefit of stop lists is that they can be updated at any time—it is possible to add new items after the launch. The default stop lists are prepared for different languages and activated when we receive the GET parameter with the user interface language.AI tools based on OpenAI suitable for the majority of languagesThe AI moderation system checks all messages sent to a chat in 10 ms. It automatically takes predetermined moderation actions when it detects content that matches criteria set in rules, such as profanity, hate speech, sexual content, self-harm, etc. You can turn on the automatic hiding of messages, and the tool will automatically hide all messages that match the criteria, with a mark indicating the reason for hiding. Additionally, the AI tool flags such messages on the admin panel, allowing human moderators and admins to focus on rule breakers who posted these messages or even send such issues to the CRM system.This tool can be used for preventing self-harm, for example, in the context of responsible betting. If the system finds messages that can be interpreted as potential self-harm content, such messages can be sent to the CRM system for a ticket to resolve the issue, possibly blocking access to betting. Both can continue to communicate in a chat but won’t see each other's messages.Tools for human in-flight moderationThe first three layers cover 95% of violations in a chat, but if you want a 100% clean chat, we provide comfortable and convenient tools for in-flight moderation. Moderators can hide messages, see AI flags, ban users, and check how often particular users break the rules. Moderators also review user reports and transmit technical issues to the CRM system, which helps users feel safe on different levels.<h3>All levels are responsible for different benefits and advantages</h3>Pre-moderation is easily customized. Platforms can tailor their own rules to fit community standards and cultural sensitivities, considering habits and possible violations on the platform. AI tools support scalability: it doesn’t matter how many users and messages are gathered on the platform; AI processes all content at the same speed and with the same high quality. Regular chat rules include the following restrictions:What is prohibited?- Obscene and inappropriate language, socially inappropriate/unacceptable words or phrases, as well as abuse, swearing, and hostile remarksCursing, vulgar and offensive language aimed at denigrating the honour and dignity of other users are all prohibited. By hostile remarks, we mean messages aimed at offending people because of their race or ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability or illness, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.- Aggressive or degrading statements, harmful stereotypes, and statements referring to the inferiority of others are prohibited. Harmful stereotypes, by which we mean degrading comparisons, are not permitted. Speech that degrades human dignity through comparison, generalization, or behaviour description is also forbidden.- Flooding and advertisements- Threats- Private dataIt is forbidden to send phone numbers, addresses, IDs, any other document data, bank card details, etc.—whether users' own data or that of others.- Fraud and begging- Cybersecurity breachesAny attempts to gather users’ confidential information or data or to gain unauthorized access to a service, product, or platform are forbidden.- Nicknames/usernames that contain anything that is restricted by any of these rules are forbidden. Also, you can activate a tool that will check users' nicknames from the main platform’s profiles.- Political and sexualized provocationsPropaganda and any provocative content are forbidden.<h3>Threshold for violations</h3>All of these topics and threads can be settings specifically for AI tools. The default threshold for marking such a message is 75%. This means that if AI tools are 75% certain about the existence of one of the threats in a message, it will be flagged and, if suitable, hidden automatically. However, if you have a thread that is more sensitive for your platform, you can decrease the entry threshold for such a violation and flag it even with 30 or 40% certainty. So, if even a hint of sexual issues or self-harm is inappropriate, add the low threshold for these topics, and AI will catch all possible variations and even veiled messages in this area.

Simplicity and Consistency: How do we provide excellent UX for partners from various industries 

We integrate chats and other tools for communication to different platforms, from trading to video streaming services. Users of such platforms are different and follow various needs and goals. It's the first challenge with UX. The second one is that we have a white-label solution, so our chats&nbsp;have to&nbsp;become an organic element of your partners' interface. How do we achieve it? Watchers' product design team shares their views on the topic and describes the approach to building the perfect UX for each partner and every end-user.<h3>What does “high-quality UX” mean?</h3>An answer is a bit obvious: high-quality user experience means creating products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users. This involves the design of the entire process of acquiring and integrating the product, including aspects of branding, design, usability, and function. A high-quality UX enhances customer satisfaction and loyalty by improving the ease of use, and pleasure provided in the interaction with the product. This approach allows each client to imprint their unique brand identity onto the interfaces we provide.<h3>Can you share a specific challenge you've faced in designing white-label products?</h3>Imagine we work across various domains like VOD, betting, and trading. It’s clear that the primary scenario involves socializing platform users around content, but we also focus on increasing users’ transactional activity. Each domain requires its unique success metrics. So, the challenge is to adapt one particular solution to platforms with different goals, content, and audience. Also, differences can lie in one domain. For example, users can watch live content on the video platform and discuss emotions in real-time supporting the football team, and then go to watch and discuss the series and write a review—without such strong emotions but taking time for reflection and avoiding spoilers. We need to find balance and a solution for both ways in the perimeter of the same platform.<h3>What key principles do you prioritise to create a seamless and user-friendly interfacet?</h3>Simplicity&nbsp;in navigation and interaction to ensure ease of use regardless of the user's technical skills.Consistency&nbsp;in core functionality and interaction patterns to reduce learning curves and enhance usability.Adaptability&nbsp;to allow for easy customization and integration of different branding elements without compromising on usability or aesthetics.<h3>In the context of white-labelling, how do you manage user feedback?</h3>In managing user feedback, we establish a loop that encompasses both our clients and their end-users. By implementing analytics and tracking tools, we closely monitor user interactions with platform elements. We also encourage our clients to perform regular user testing and conduct surveys.Additionally, we actively engage with the end-users directly. If something displeases or pleases users, they often share these experiences in chats. This direct feedback provides us with invaluable insights into user preferences and needs. The data collected from these various sources is meticulously reviewed to inform iterative improvements, ensuring that our products continuously evolve and effectively meet user needs.<h3>What tools do you find most effective in testing and iterating on user interfaces?</h3>One of the most effective methodologies we use is the Jobs to be Done (JTBD) framework. JTBD helps us understand the underlying reasons why clients and their users choose our product—what jobs they are hiring it to do.In practice, we start by identifying the various "jobs" that users need to complete with our interface. We then design our UI to make these jobs as intuitive and straightforward as possible. For each iteration of the product, we use both qualitative and quantitative methods to assess how well the interface helps users accomplish these jobs. This might include user testing sessions, where we observe users interacting with the product, or analyzing usage data to see where users might be struggling.For instance, in our last release, we improved the menu display because users in certain scenarios were losing the ability to interact with it effectively. Our ongoing evaluation directly informed this adjustment of how users manage their "jobs" through the interface.JTBD not only guides our design choices but also helps ensure that our white-label products seamlessly fit into the diverse workflows of our clients and their users, thereby enhancing overall satisfaction and effectiveness.<h3>What product metrics affect your approach to designing?</h3>Retention&nbsp;is crucial because it measures how well our products keep users coming back, which is a direct indicator of the effectiveness of our user experience and overall product satisfaction.Conversion&nbsp;rates help us understand whether the design effectively encourages users to take desired actions, such as completing a transaction or regularly engaging with content. This metric guides us in optimizing the user flow and interface elements to better lead users towards these target actions.The lifetime value&nbsp;of a user is also a pivotal metric, as it gives us insight into the long-term value a user brings to the platform.<h3>How does your approach differ depending on the partners’ domains? UX can be really different for investors, bettors, and film lovers.</h3>For investors, clarity and information density are crucial because these users seek detailed and reliable data to make informed decisions. For example, we partner with a trading exchange that has incorporated our product into its platform. With our solution, they can host live streams with influencers directly on their platform without needing external resources. These sessions discuss current news, trends, and expectations, encouraging users to make more informed and profitable investment decisions.For bettors, we emphasize the social and community aspects of the experience. Our design aims to enhance interaction within communities, making it easy for users to share tips, celebrate wins, and learn from each other. Thus, increasing transactional activity through a socially enriched environment.Film lovers, on the other hand, value visual appeal and ease of content discovery. For VOD services, the discovery metrics are critical: the faster users find interesting content, the longer they will remain active users. What content matches perfectly for second-screen, and why is this solution so important for television today?

Second-screen solutions became a natural part of video consumption and influenced the appearance of social TV phenomena. What content is a perfect match for a social screen? How can it be implemented quickly without any complicated developments?

Why We Never Stop Talking About Second Screens

It's interesting that the Super Bowl's experience with the second screen began over 10 years ago. Since 2010, marketers have realised that using short commercials for millions of dollars isn't as effective as interacting with them throughout the entire game. This realisation has led marketers and broadcasters to develop second-screen experiences for viewers and sports fans.Some early second-screen examples for the Super Bowl included Coca-Cola's Facebook fan page, Chevy's first Super Bowl-specific app with trivia and quizzes, and Arena's community live chat. These are just a few examples, and there were many more, with goals that were both similar and different depending on the platform and the type of video content the second screen complemented.James Blake, a researcher specialising in video consumption and social experiences, published a book highlighting that second screens are no longer an additional benefit but rather a natural part of the television flow and a necessary stream for TV viewers and their experience. If a TV channel, specific program, or commercial brand doesn't use the opportunity to engage viewers with a second screen, they risk losing them to social media or online stores that are not connected to the programs directly. After all, viewers are no longer glued to the TV screen.There is a significant amount of data based on surveys that show that 83% of TV viewers use their smartphones at least once while watching, and 43% of them tweet or post about the shows they watch on other social media. This is significant data for broadcasters. Imagine a viewer who is a fan of a show like "Big Brother" or curling. This viewer watches episodes of Big Brother daily and every curling game they can find. They also post about their favourite shows and games on social media. However, their friends on social media, who are colleagues and gym buddies, may not be interested in these topics. As a result, the viewer's excitement goes unnoticed because they don't receive a reaction.Broadcasters can achieve a win-win situation by providing a second-screen solution for such a viewer. The broadcaster gains an even more loyal viewer who interacts while watching, not on Twitter, but on a pre-prepared platform that is part of the broadcasted show. The viewer gains a dedicated audience for their emotions—a live chat room or social media page that gathers other fans of the show or curling enthusiasts. The high level of engagement here is important and beneficial for both viewers and the channel. One of the best parts here is how easily such a solution can be implemented and how chilly and seamless the viewer can dive into this experience.<h3>Perfect content for second-screen usage</h3>Live Sports EventsImplementing a second screen for significant sporting events is the most obvious solution. The more popular the game, the better, but it's actually not that important whether one million or one thousand viewers watch the game simultaneously. Even a thousand fans can build and drive a community full of energy and emotions. There are different ways to provide them with this opportunity. For example, the Israeli broadcaster used WhatsApp to gather all smartphone and football lovers in one place for the 2018 World Cup games. This case became a perfect example of using second-screen features to create a meaningful and collaborative viewing experience with significant engagement.However, there's one point to consider: users will use messaging apps regardless. Why not attract them to a second screen that is strongly linked to the broadcaster rather than something external like WhatsApp?﻿﻿﻿﻿<img src="https://watchersweb-prod.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/f099a64b-d17b-4482-8381-65a7c9024709.png">In 2022, Watchers gathered viewers of The Olympics broadcaster in a chat created specifically for them. It wasn't a chat within the existing messenger app but a separate chat that opened in a browser, becoming something like a specific messenger just for this occasion. Users scanned a QR code on the screen while watching the game or during a commercial break to enter the chat. It was only open during the sports days (closing when the last game finished and reopening with the start of the first game the next day). This prevented the chat from becoming inactive, and viewers began to look forward not only to the games but also to the chat opening, starting from the second day of the project.Finally, the third opportunity is to gather TV viewers on this particular broadcaster's mobile app, which helps achieve the highest level of digitalisation of viewers and makes them multi-screen users.Reality TVWe used the example of Big Brother for a reason: reality shows are also a perfect match for the second screen. While sports games can significantly boost engagement in a short burst, reality shows typically last longer. Their viewers develop a habit of being connected to the show and its characters and participants and always have something to discuss. This content is also perfect for quizzes, polls, and additional games because, on the one hand, there's always a topic to discuss in a reality show, and on the other hand, there aren't many things happening all the time. Giving users the opportunity to do something else besides watching while still staying engaged with the content can be a great solution for your show and its fanbase. For example, the show "Love Island" created a specific app for viewers to use as a second screen. The app allowed viewers to participate in elimination votes during the broadcast, and the results affected the episodes of the show. The launch results were impressive: hundreds of thousands of app downloads, record-breaking viewer counts, and loads of positive feedback.<img src="https://watchersweb-prod.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/8cf3129d-1419-4cc9-9634-0bf2f0a6d6c7.jpeg">Talk Shows/Game Shows/Live EventsThese categories may not be as obvious as sports or as frequent as reality shows, but live events like elections or award shows can also be the perfect base for launching a second screen. While viewers might find it difficult to concentrate on the screen for the entire duration of an all-day election broadcast or an awards ceremony that lasts all night, these events are still significant. As a broadcaster, you want to get the most out of them. Gathering viewers on a digital screen keeps them engaged and within the broadcast event's sphere. It also helps keep them updated and provides them with an interlocutor to discuss the winner without waiting for the morning. This fosters a sense of community and makes them feel like they are part of the event itself.***The second screen has become so important that a new term, "social TV," has emerged. It's defined as the use of communication technology to connect television viewers in order to create shared experiences around television content remotely. This includes communicating with others while watching television. Social TV situations significantly impact how viewers form opinions about the content of broadcasts, even if it comes at the expense of shaping an independent position or opinion. In the streaming and social media era, forcing people to form opinions about your content and discuss it can be quite challenging. However, we should remember that there is much more hate on social media outside&nbsp;official accounts, and authors of such comments do not so often tag the persons they address.
